

Uses the library computer system (Polaris) to register and update borrower information and place reserves.Īnswers phones, calculates overdue fines, receives money and makes change. Locates library materials for reserve lists.Īssists in library opening and closing procedures, which may include locking/unlocking the library night drop, unloading the night drop, clearing tables, reassembling newspapers, turning lights on/off, turning copiers on/off, and making sure that everyone is out of the building.Īssists at the circulation desk including checking materials in and out.

Shelf-read to assure items are properly located so that patrons are able to find them. Shelves library materials, including books, magazines, newspapers, and audio-visual materials. Information about all six libraries appears on the Lower Merion Library Website at Works under the general supervision of a Department Head or Head Librarian. Lower Merion’s Libraries are in Ardmore, Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills, Bryn Mawr (Ludington Library), Gladwyne, and Penn Wynne. Accurately completes tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor. The work requires that the employee have good knowledge, skill and ability to work with the public. Work involves shelving and shelf-reading, circulation and customer service. This is library shelving and clerical work involving circulation duties and customer service. Applicants will receive a phone call if they are selected for an interview. Typical schedules include evening and weekend hours with occasional daytime hours. Applications submitted for libraries not listed above will not be reviewed.
